Book Publishing Consulting & Editorial Work

In addition to my own published books, I have spent more than ten years working as a book publishing consultant and manuscript editor for a boutique literary business. During that time, I partnered with authors at all stages of their publishing journey, from first-time writers to seasoned professionals seeking to refine their craft or break into new markets.

My work has included:

  • Manuscript Critiques & Developmental Editing: Offering detailed feedback on structure, pacing, and storytelling, including plot arcs, character development, and world building.
  • Author Coaching: Helping writers clarify their vision, strengthen their voice, and build confidence in their creative process.
  • Publishing Guidance: Advising on pathways to publication, whether through traditional publishers, small presses, or self-publishing.
  • Marketing & Promotion Strategies: Providing direction on how authors can position and promote their books to reach readers effectively.

This decade-long experience has given me a deep appreciation for the diversity of author goals and the resilience required to bring a book to life. It has also strengthened my own skills as a storyteller, editor, and strategist—roles I continue to draw on in every facet of my creative and professional work.
