WorkMarket (an ADP Company): Rethinking the Retail Labor Model
Retailers face a tough reality. Margins are shrinking, customer expectations are rising, and the seasonal surges that define the industry can make or break a business. To succeed, companies must innovate not only in the in-store experience but also in how they manage labor. As a Copywriter for WorkMarket (an ADP Company), I wrote and provided creative direction for a flagship eBook: “The Retail Labor Model Is Designed to Fail—And What You Can Do.”
The Challenge
WorkMarket wanted to speak directly to retail executives who were grappling with staffing challenges, volatile demand, and the need for flexible solutions. The content had to:
- Highlight the flaws in the traditional retail labor model
- Demonstrate how on-demand and external workforces could improve efficiency and scalability
- Provide sales teams with a thought leadership asset that opened meaningful conversations with retail decision-makers
My Role
As Copywriter, I:
- Researched and authored the eBook, shaping it into a clear narrative that combined data with storytelling
- Provided creative direction, ensuring design, structure, and tone elevated the content beyond a typical white paper
- Framed the retail labor crisis as solvable, positioning WorkMarket as the partner that enables innovation and resilience
The Outcome
The eBook became a cornerstone in WorkMarket’s B2B content strategy. It:
- Helped retailers see a path forward to smarter, more flexible labor models
- Equipped the salesforce with a high-value engagement tool for conversations with executives
- Strengthened WorkMarket’s credibility as a thought leader in the future-of-work space
